Bio

Dr. Garcia treats patients in private practice, and teaches acupuncture, anatomy, dermatology, cosmetic acupuncture and other courses in the master's and doctoral programs of local acupuncture schools. She taught TCM pediatrics and tui na for several years at Emperor's College. Dr. Garcia is also a diplomate in practical Chinese dermatology and certified member of the International Traditional Chinese Medicine Dermatology Association. She has enjoyed practicing all styles of massage for over 20 years, and is certified in pediatric acupuncture, shiatsu and acupuncture facial renewal. Before practicing acupuncture, Dr. Garcia was an opera singer and children's music teacher. She still sings and approaches acupuncture as a healing art which helps children, adolescents and teenagers find or regain their balance. Using the five elements as a guiding light, she tries to help all patients to find their true natures, and deeply feel engaged and alive in their unique selves. Her greatest goal is to reduce suffering and to spark and support the light of true healing and growth. Trained in Japanese acupuncture, Dr. Garcia always uses an extremely gentle touch and combines acupuncture with other non-invasive techniques such as shiatsu, tui na, cupping and gua sha. She also enjoys helping the parents of babies and young children to learn methods of treating their children with Tui Na and Shonishin massage.
